Man airlifted after Suffolk shooting; suspect arrested

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Police have made an arrest in an investigation into a shooting Friday night on the 800 block of West Constance Road.

They were dispatched to the scene shortly after 10 p.m., and located an adult male with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was airlifted to the hospital by Nightingale with serious injuries. 

The suspect, 18-year-old Tony Powell Jr., of Suffolk, was arrested Saturday and charged with armed robbery, malicious wounding, shoot cut or wound, four counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony and shooting into an unoccupied dwelling.
