HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A Lyft driver was carjacked and robbed in Hampton Thursday night by her own passengers, police say.

Hampton police said the driver, a 36-year-old Hampton woman, was dropping off two people on Maplewood Street when one of them implied that he had a weapon and demanded her property.

Police said the suspects stole her wallet, cellphone and shoes before taking off in her 2015 Chevy sedan. Officers later found her car some two miles away, in the 2000 block of Seldendale Drive.

The suspects are described as black males (one with darker skin tone, the other with lighter skin tone), 5’8–5’9, 160–180 lbs and were last seen wearing all dark clothing, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the Hampton Police Division at 757–727–6111 or the Crime Line at 1–888-LOCK-U-UP.
