NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A woman has died after an overnight shooting on Kerrey Avenue in Norfolk.
Police said the shooting happened just after 12 a.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of Kerrey Avenue, near East Princess Anne Road.
A woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later died. She was identified on Tuesday afternoon as 41-year-old Precious U. Jones, of Norfolk.

Detectives have not released a motive or suspect information in the case at this time.
40 people have now died in shootings in Norfolk so far this year, according to tracking from WAVY’s investigative team. 138 people have been injured in shootings since January 1.
