Suspect in shooting at Williamsburg Budget Inn surrenders to police

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — Police say a suspect in a shooting at a Budget Inn in Williamsburg that left one woman has surrended to police.

A Williamsburg Police spokesperson said the shooting happened at the hotel in 800 block of Capitol Landing Road. Officers were called to the scene just before 7:30 a.m.

Police said the suspect fled the scene.

The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known.

Police said officers obtained warrants for 28-year-old Crystal Lynn Hamilton on charges of armed burglary, malicious wounding and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Hamilton turned herself into police in the early morning hours of Friday, May 31, 2019.

Police said the woman injured in the shooting was taken to transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center and is expected to recover.
