VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach’s new Wegmans store isn’t slated to open until next year, but hiring is already underway.
Wegmans announced Friday it is looking to fill 185 full-time positions across all departments. The Virginia Beach store will have 500 total employees when it’s up and running.
Positions available now include entry-level management, overnight grocery, and culinary roles. Hiring for part-time positions will happen at a later date, according to Wegmans.

Wegmans signed a lease in January 2017 to build a 130,000 square foot store in a vacant lot near the the southwest corner of the intersection of Virginia Beach Boulevard (Route 58) and Independence Boulevard.
The store is expected to open in the spring of 2019.
