VB police: Firearm violation involving juvenile led to barricade situation, boy still not in custody

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach police said a firearm violation involving a juvenile led to a barricade situation Tuesday afternoon on East Hastings Arch.

Police tweeted information about the situation at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, saying there was a heavy law enforcement presence in the area of the incident.

The situation was in the 5800 block of East Hastings Arch. Police warned people to avoid the area.

Police tweeted at 9:10 p.m. saying the juvenile wanted for the firearm violation was still not in custody and had evaded police.

However, he had been identified by police.
