VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The search continued Sunday for a woman who went missing from Virginia Beach a week ago.
Bellamy Gamboa, 39, was last seen on the night of July 1 at her home at the Diamond Springs Apartments. The complex is near the intersection of Diamond Springs Road and Shore Drive.
Police say she left her apartment between 8:30 and 10 p.m. and did not show up to work on Monday. A missing person report was filed.
Nearly 50 people, made up of both friends and family, continue to search the streets and woods for her surrounding Pickering Street, where her was car found abandoned on Tuesday.
Gamboa’s sister, Charisse, said “We’re so determined. We’re all just kind of over it and want my family just not be in pain anmore especially the two teens.”
Charisse admits she is a little overwhelmed with all the support, but also grateful.
“We have friends that, you know, my sister hasn’t seen in a while, and I haven’t seen, so everyone’s just spreading the love,” she explained.
On Friday, her family offered an undisclosed cash reward and issued a plea for her return.
Charisse tells 10 On Your Side she is not giving up hope that her big sister will come home.
“Just come forward please. We need her back…she’s a human being,” said Charisse. “For her kids.”
Gamboa’s 40th birthday is coming up this week and her family hopes to see her home.
