1 in custody after barricade situation on 55th Street in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police took one person into custody after a barricade situation Monday afternoon on 55th Street at the Oceanfront.

In a tweet, police said the incident was in the 300 block of 55th Street.

Holly Road was closed from 55th Street to Myrtle Avenue as of about 2 p.m. and police asked the public to avoid the area.

Police tweeted again at 3:12 p.m. saying the barricade situation had resolved and one person was taken into custody without incident.

All roads were reopened at that time.
