VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Officials say four residents, including 2 children, were displaced following an overnight house fire in Virginia Beach.

According to police dispatch, the call for the residential fire came in around 12:10 a.m. Saturday in the 4700 block of Deer Field Lane.

A family of four, including 2 children, were displaced following the fire. One adult was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Officials say one pet was found dead. The cause of the fire appears to be accidental.
