Crews respond to fire at storage facility in Oceana area of Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters responded to a structure fire in the Oceana area on Monday morning.

Acting Battalion Chief Tom Stone said the fire department received the call at 4:38 a.m. about a fire at a building in the 1300 block of Harpers Road. It was later learned the fire was at a storage facility.

Arriving crews found heavy fire coming from both the front and rear of the structure.

Stone said 11 units and 50 firefighters responded.

The fire was knocked down a short time later and no injuries have been reported.

The building houses ten suites. He said three were heavily damaged by the fire.
