VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — At-large councilwoman Rosemary Wilson is announcing she will run for the Beach District seat.
Wilson can keep her at-large seat while she runs for the position. She told 10 On Your Side she is concerned with the recent turmoil with the district Seat.
Long-term incumbent John Uhrin lost to David Nygaard in last November’s election.
A three-judge panel determined in March that Nygaard did not actually live in the district when he registered, when he ran and when he won.
Recently-appointed councilman Guy Tower will serve in the seat until next November, when a new council person is elected.
Wilson said the Beach district needs experience, she has it and will launch a vigorous campaign.
