Suffolk mom arrested for son’s school absences


SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A Suffolk mother has been arrested over her son’s failure to attend school.

According to a police report, Solita Tearia Williams, 30, has been arrested after authorities saw her inside a car in the 1000 block of Portsmouth Blvd on May 25 at approximately 1 a.m.

Williams, a Suffolk local, had a warrant for contributing to the delinquency of a minor regarding her son’s school attendance, or lack of it.

Williams had previously failed to attend truancy hearings in both school and in court about her son’s school absences.
