SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A large barn in Suffolk containing several motorcycles, a boat and personal lawn equipment was destroyed overnight in a fire.
City of Suffolk officials said fire crews were called to the scene in the 7700 block of Quaker Drive — in the rural Holland area — around 2:25 a.m. Units arrived 12 minutes later to find the barn engulfed in flames.
Officials said the barn, the contents inside and a pickup truck parked next to the barn are considered total losses. A nearby home sustained some minor heat damage.
Crews got the fire under control around 3:25 a.m. No one was injured, and no one who lives inside the home was displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
