SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Suffolk woman reached out to 10 On Your Side over shots fired in her neighborhood, in front of a playground.
She says it’s not the first time bullets flew through the air there, but this time she says she has the culprits on camera.
Neighbors say they saw a group of people walking down Dill Road just before 11 at night and then heard gunshots right in front of the nearby playground.
“I got an alert on my phone that there was motion in front of my house, from the Ring doorbell,” said a neighbor who didn’t want to be identified.
She says she clicked on her phone and looked at the video, which showed a group of people walking down Dill Road. Then she heard a gun go off. The group laughed, and then walked off.
“The video only got one gunshot, but there’s a total of three,” the woman said.
Police responded to the road and canvassed the areas, but couldn’t find the group.
“They said the woods behind the park had lots of trails that people can get away in, and that worries me because I did not know that,” the woman told us.
Neighbors say this isnt the first time they’ve heard gunshots in their neighborhood.
“Maybe they don’t understand how serious this is, I hope they figure it out soon.”
Neighbors say they all have cameras on this block and will continue to look out for each other.
