NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Four people are in custody after a robbery that resulted in a felony traffic stop Tuesday off of Interstate 264 in Norfolk.

According to police, officers responded to a call of a man robbed at gunpoint by three people around 5:12 p.m. in the 100 block of Price St. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the suspects getting into a vehicle and leaving the area.

The officers followed the vehicle, which got onto I-264 East. Police say a felony stop was conducted on the vehicle near the Brambleton exit in Norfolk.

Four people were taken into custody and one of the suspects, identified as 20-year-old Tae’Jon Scott fled on foot from the traffic stop.

Police say Scott hopped over a fence and accidentally discharged his gun. He was then taken into custody with no further incident and was transported to the hospital for minor injuries from fleeing.

Scott has been charged with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felon. 18-year-old Malachi Hardy was also arrested and charged with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. 18-year-old Tamarriya Cross was charged with robbery.
