YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Authorities say a person killed by an Amtrak Monday morning in York County intentionally jumped in front of the train.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office says it happened near the intersection of Mooretown Road and Cameron Circle around 11:07 a.m.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office has identified but the person, but is not sharing their name.
