Police respond to fatal accident on E. Indian River Road in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police say one person has died after a single-vehicle accident early Saturday.

Dispatchers say they received the call around 8:46 a.m. for a single-vehicle accident in the 2100 block of E. Indian River Road.

Police arrived on the scene and found an adult man inside the vehicle.

The man was pronounced deceased on the scene.

A nearby business owner says he did not see the crash happen, but he saw many police cars as he came into work Saturday morning.

He said he is not surprised to see another accident on this road.

“Slow down, that’s what they need to do is slow down. We wouldn’t have these wrecks. I’ve traveled this road for sixty-two years when it was one lane,” said David McNeal.
