Teen taken to CHKD after shooting in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A teenage girl was hospitalized late Wednesday morning following a shooting in Norfolk.

City dispatchers tell WAVY.com the shooting was reported in the 1100 block of Park Avenue, between E. Princess Anne Road and E. Virginia Beach Boulevard, around 11:30 a.m.

Norfolk Police spokesperson Jo Ann Hughes said a 16-year-old girl injured in the shooting was transported to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters.

According to dispatch, her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear.
