NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police responded to a crash with injuries in Norfolk Sunday afternoon, that resulted in the arrest of the driver.
Officers were called to the 800 block of E. Little Creek Road at 11:40 a.m. for the report of a commercial burglary, during which a vehicle was stolen. Responding officers attempted to stop the stolen vehicle, but the driver kept going until he crashed a short block away, between Chesapeake Boulevard and Sewells Point Road. The vehicle landed on its roof.
The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Quran Chatman of Norfolk, was arrested and charged with burglary, grand larceny, felony vandalism, larcenous tools and felony eluding.
It took several hours to clear the crash scene.
Chatman was treated at Sentara Norfolk General for minor injuries. He’s now at Norfolk City Jail without bond.
