Police: 2 men shot in Norfolk while attempting home invasion

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- Detectives are investigating after two men were shot early Thursday morning during an alleged home invasion on Marshall Avenue. 

Police say the call came in at 2:34 a.m. for the shooting in the 1300 block of Marshall Avenue. Police located a man with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the face.

A short time later, they were notified of a second male gunshot victim that walked into Sentara Norfolk General with a non life-threatening gunshot wound.  

Police say after a preliminary investigation they found that the two men were armed with handguns and attempted a home invasion in the 1400 block of Goff Street. They both fled the scene after sustaining  gunshot wounds. 

No suspects or motive have been identified, but police ask anyone with information to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. The identities of the two men that were shot are being withheld at this time, as charges are pending.
