Norfolk Police investigating death of 67-year-old man on E. Virginia Beach Blvd. as homicide


NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police are investigating what led up to a shooting that left a 67-year-old man dead Sunday afternoon.

According to police dispatch, the call for the shooting came in at 5 p.m. in the 700 block of East Virginia Beach Boulevard.

When officers got to the scene, they found the victim who they’ve identified as 67-year-old Shelton Riggins suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officials say Riggins was sent to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he died from his injuries.
