Officials: No hazards detected in Norfolk’s NEON District


NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Crews responded to a possible hazardous materials (hazmat) incident on Granby Street in Norfolk.

Officials with Norfolk Fire-Rescue said in a tweet a call was received from the 700 block of Granby Street, in the city’s NEON District, around 11:45 a.m.

The tweet said a locksmith was called to open a vault when an unknown substance was released. A later tweet said no hazards were detected in the substance.
