New York City man living in Virginia Beach to serve 11 years for dealing fentanyl, heroin

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) --  A convicted felon and drug dealer from New York City living in Virginia Beach will spend 11 years in prison following a joint operation sting.

Michael Thomas Jamison, 34, was sentenced Monday in Norfolk district court for dealing heroin and fentanyl and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Jamison first tried to sell 150 grams of heroin laced with fentanyl to undercover police, according to court documents.

Following that incident, a warrant allowed police to search his home, where they located 620 more grams of the fentanyl-laced heroin, $10,000 in cash and two loaded handguns. Authorities say Jamison had multiple previous drug convictions in both New York and Maryland.
