NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Nauticus is offering discounted admission this weekend to celebrate the Battleship Wisconsin’s 75th anniversary.
The famed battleship was commissioned 75 years ago. It served in World War II, the Korean War and the Persian Gulf War before being decommissioned in 1991 and moved to Nauticus in 2000.
The museum is holding events throughout the year to mark the Wisconsin’s anniversary.
Basic admission to Nauticus includes a a self-guided tour of the battleship, and normally costs $15.95 for adults, $11.50 for children ages 4 to 12 and $12.95 for active-duty military.
However, from May 18 to 19, admission to Nauticus will cost $7.50 for each adult and child.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can meet veterans of the battleship and see newly opened portions on the ship, including the hospital, barber shop and library.
