NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – An illegal alien from Honduras, who is facing charges of alleged sex offenses, pleaded guilty Monday to illegally reentering the U.S.

A press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Virginia states that Juviny Calix- Cruz, 42, pleaded guilty in Norfolk federal court Monday to illegal reentry by a removed alien.

Court documents state that Calix-Cuz had illegally entered the country back in 2005. He was deported to Honduras in June 2012, and again in July 2012 after he illegally reentered the country again.

This year, Calix-Cruz encountered authorities in Norfolk and he was arrested and later indicted by a state grand jury for forcible sodomy of a 13-year-old as well as taking indecent liberties with a child under supervision.

Calix-Cruz is currently facing a maximum sentence of two years for illegal reentry when he is sentenced on September 6.
