NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Officers arrested a woman after a report of a robbery to a person at James River West Motel on May 8.

Newport News Police said they responded to the business on 13541 Warwick Boulevard about 2:30 a.m. that day and spoke to a 51-year-old man who said a woman visited him in the room hours earlier.

The man reportedly told police the woman wanted to come back to get an item she forgot.

When the man opened the door, two men rushed in and assaulted him while demanding the woman’s property. The man claimed the woman pulled a knife while the men robbed him and took cash.

Police charged 31-year-old Ashley Albers with abduction, robbery and burglary for the motel incident. While searching her home, police said they found possible narcotics.

Albers is also faced with drug possession charges and conspiracy to commit three felonies.
