Police: 30-year-old Hampton man injured in drive-by shooting Saturday morning

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News Police are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man injured.

According to emergency dispatchers, the shooting happened around 1:27 on Saturday morning in the area of Nansemond Drive and Arlington Avenue. 

Officers responded and located a 30-year-old Hampton man suffering from a gunshot wound

According to police, the victim says he was at a stop sign in a vehicle when another car drove by and shot him.

Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital. 

The injuries are not considered life-threatening, police say.
