Multiple injuries, 8-year-old taken to hospital after truck strikes Waffle House

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A child was injured after a 75-year-old man drove his truck into a building Sunday morning.

According to Newport News Police, they responded to a vehicle crash in the 600 block of Denbigh Blvd. at 10:36 a.m.

Police say the Nissan Frontier lost control and hit a Waffle House.

Four adult customers and an eight-year-old child were injured. The child and two of the adults were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, police say.

Police say Dominic Cirillo, Jr. was issued a summons for reckless driving in reference to the crash.
