Fatal two-vehicle crash on Denbigh Blvd. under investigation

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News police are investigating a two-vehicle crash Friday night that left a man dead. 

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. in the area of Denbigh Boulevard and Patrick Henry Drive. 

Officers arrived and found two vehicles, a gray Jeep Cherokee and a white Nissan Sentra, that had been involved in a crash. The driver of the Cherokee, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the Sentra, a 37-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Police say both drivers were the only occupants. 

All eastbound traffic on Denbigh Boulevard traveling from Jefferson Avenue to York County has been blocked as police investigate.
