JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Crews responded to a house fire in James City County Saturday afternoon.

According to police dispatch, the call for the fire came in around 1:10 p.m. in the 2200 block of Joly Pond Road.

Crews from both James City County and James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department units responded to the fire

When they arrived at the scene, crews reported seeing the home fully involved with fire. Due to heavy winds, the fire spread quickly and made extinguishment challenging.

Officials say the home is located in an area without fire hydrants so multiple tanker trucks were used to shuttle water. The fire was marked under control at 3 p.m.

One resident has been displaced.
