Have ideas to make Hampton Roads Transit’s bus system better? They want to hear from you

HAMPTON ROADS, Va (WAVY) — Transportation officials want to hear ideas from the community to help the bus system evolve to meet today’s needs.

Hampton Roads Transit is holding a series of public meetings in May and June about how to better serve the community.

Officials say the projects will take a “blank slate approach” and look for new was to make the bus system more relevant and responsive.

HRT says changes could mean new technology, new routes, or new service areas.

There are 12 different public meetings in Portsmouth, Nofolk, Newport News, Hampton, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach.

Two meetings are coming up this week in Chesapeake and Norfolk.
