Police: Man found dead inside home following shooting in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Police say one person is dead following a shooting Saturday night.

The call came in at 11 p.m. for the incident in the 2100 block of E. Roger Peed Drive in Hampton.

When they got to the scene, officers found the victim, a still-unidentified 39-year-old man, who had been struck by gunfire. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigations revealed that the man was shot while inside the residence.

Police say they withholding the identity of the man until his next of kin has been notified.

The incident remains under investigation.
