HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A man died after being found shot on East Pembroke Avenue in Hampton late Friday evening, according to police.
Hampton police officers responded to a call for a shooting at 11:49p.m., and when officers arrived, police report a man was found shot several times. Hampton Fire and Rescue took a man to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police identified the victim as 39-year-old Daunta DeAngelo Lee Cooper.
An initial investigation reveals there was a gathering at the location. During the gathering, there was an argument between the Cooper and a male suspect.
The incident is under investigation. Police did not clarify if a suspect was taken into custody.
