2 cats dead, 3 people displaced in Hampton apartment fire

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) -- Three people were displaced and two cats were killed after a fire impacted three apartment units in Hampton.

Hampton fire officials said in a tweet firefighters were called to a complex in the 10 block of Ranalet Drive around 11:50 a.m.

One of the apartments impacted was condemned, displaying three residents. Two cats were killed.

The tweet said no other injuries were reported.

Firefighters had the blaze extinguished in less than 30 minutes. Officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
