HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Police said one man died after a shooting Thursday night in Hampton.
Officers were called to the 1500 block of Aberdeen Road around 8:40 p.m. after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.
When officers arrived on scene they found a silver four-door sedan, off the roadway, near the intersection of Aberdeen Road and West Mercury Boulevard.
Police say their investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling northbound on Aberdeen Road when the shooting happened. The gunfire caused the sedan to travel off the road, where it hit a fire hydrant.
One man was found in the car with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene, police add.
Police have identified the victim as 21-year-old Kyson Lymon of Hampton.
At this time, there is no suspect information and the incident remains under investigation.
