HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of West Mercury Boulevard near Power Plant Way.

When officers arrived on scene, they located the victim with injuries believed to be non life-threatening.

Few details are available at this time, but police say their preliminary investigation found the victim was shot during a physical fight in the road. There’s no suspect information available at this time.
