Coast Guard suspend search for man last seen in water at Gloucester Point Beach due to lack of correlation

GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) — The Coast Guard says they suspended the search for a report of a man who was last seen going into the water at Gloucester Point Beach overnight Friday.

A witness said they saw the man go underwater and not resurface, per Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue.

The Coast Guard later suspended the search Friday afternooon due to a lack of correlation to any missing persons report for that area, and any signs of distress in the area that was searched.
