The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the Dodge sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and entered the opposite lane. At this point, he struck a Honda SUV with three occupants inside.

Police say the Dodge sedan was found upside down in a ditch when they arrived. The driver, later identified as 57-year-old Christopher Antonio Eaton, was pronounced dead on the scene.
