Chesapeake house fire displaces family of 4

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Three adults and one child were displaced after a house in Chesapeake caught fire.

Officials with the Chesapeake Fire Department said firefighters from Chesapeake and Norfolk responded to the 300 block of Butrico Road, off Wingfeld Avenue, just after 8:30 a.m.

Flames were visible at the house when units arrived on scene. Firefighters who entered the home an active fire in the kitchen, officials said.

The flames were extinguished just before 9:15 a.m. No one was injured in the fire.

An image from a WAVY viewer showed smoke from the fire rising in the distance.
