Bomb threat at Hampton General District Court prompts evacuations, police trying to ID suspect

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — All courts were evacuated after a bomb threat at Hampton General District Court on Thursday morning.

It was called in around 9:45 a.m. to the courthouse in the 200 block of North King Street, police say.

A sweep was completed and no suspicious devices were located, and normal operations resumed at 11:25 a.m.

Police don’t know who the suspect was, but said he contacted the court and indicated he was going to blow up the building.
