PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) -- There was a random act of kindness on Friday from a celebrity visiting Hampton Roads.
Comedian David Koechner is well known for his roles as Todd Packer in "The Office" and Champ Kind in "Anchorman."
Just moments after leaving the Hampton Roads Show studio, Koechner and his buddies Rick Bruner and Rob Maher witnessed a woman run off the road.
She had two blown tires when she hit the curb, and Koechner called to have the car towed to Discount Tire to buy the woman two new tires.
"When you see something like that, maybe it's a sign that you should do something, if you can. That's what I'm thinking. I have a wife and 5 kids and you think to yourself, what would you want to happen if you find yourself in that situation? The thing that goes through your head is that you know money is going to be tight. So when you see somebody in a car stuck in the middle of the road, you should offer a push ... you know ... the little things."
When they got to Discount Tires, the mechanic told her she needed all four tires changed -- so Koechner paid for that too.
You can catch Koechner at the Funny Bone Comedy Club at Town Center in Virginia Beach on Saturday and Sunday.
