VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry crew came to the rescue of a baby osprey on Tuesday amid windy conditions.

The Virginia Department of Transportation says a gust knocked the bird into a barrier and then into the water. That’s when crews rescued it from the James River.

Crews returned the chick to its nest.
