VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — One of the most familiar voices on the radio in Hampton Roads is going off the air.
Local DJ and media mogul Dick Lamb is hanging up his microphone after 40 combined years on the air at 2WD and 92.9 The Wave.
You’ve probably seen him in several television commercials over the years.
Lamb announced on air Tuesday that Friday, Jan. 11, will be his last morning show.
In the announcement, which was streamed on The Wave’s Facebook page, Lamb says he is not “totally” going away and will be taking over “some programming management duties” for a couple of local stations.
“These 40 years have been fun. You talk about a guy being blessed,” Lamb said.
