Local brewery to honor fallen trooper Chad Dermyer

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A local brewery has decided to honor a fallen state trooper.

Billsburg Brewing in James City County is making a new beer named in honor of Chad Dermyer, who was shot and killed at a Richmond bus station in 2016.

His wife michelle helped the Billsburg team start the brewing process for their new “756 IPA” on Tuesday.

Dermyer’s badge number was 756.

All ingredients for the beer, which is set to be released at the end of the month, will come from his home state of Michigan.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Police Unity Tour for fallen officers.
