VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Different art mediums — from music, poetry, dance and art — the Something in the Water festival promises it all.

Just announced: several local artists will be participating in a public art display during the festival.

New Orleans visual-artist Brandan Odums, also known as @BMIKE2C will be working with 12 local artists to create wall sized murals and pop up wall structures spread throughout Virginia Beach.

According to the festival organizers, the local participating artists include: Carl Medley, Charles Rasputin, Clayton Singleton, Hampton Boyer, Mensah Bey, Mickael Broth, Nils Westergard, OnieTonie, Shaylen Broughton, Tim Rodgers, Tommy Mitchell, and Victoria Weiss.

Singleton told WAVY News 10 he started painting his mural, located at 8th and Pacific, Wednesday night.

All Something in the Water ticket holders will be offered free admission to the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) as part of their ticket package. Click here to see what is currently on view.

The celebration of art is dripping into the city of Norfolk as well. Check out an event taking place on April 26 and April 27 called “Something in the Street.”
