PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) will be making several stops in Hampton Roads over Memorial Day Weekend in an effort to rally support ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.
Kaine’s office announced the planned “barnstorm” on Wednesday, noting that the senator will make 11 total stops across several cities: Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg.
Kaine, who is up for re-election in November, is expected to campaign for support during the weekend trip.
The stops will include Asian Fest in Norfolk, a barbecue at his Hampton field office, meet-and-greets in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach and a meeting with women leaders in Newport News.
