VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., (WAVY) – The Virginia Department of Transportation has I-264 ramp and lane closures scheduled for March 22 – March 28 week in the city of Virginia Beach.
Also, keep in mind this is National Work Zone Awareness Week. Motorists are urged, as always, to drive with extra caution, be alert, watch speed limits, follow detours and respect work zones and crews when driving through the areas.
From VDOT:The following I-264 closures and lane restrictions will be scheduled intermittently throughout the week based on sequence of construction. Due to reduced visibility at night, motorists are advised to pay close attention to signage and slow down when exiting and entering the interstate, and use extreme caution at the following interchanges:I-264 Eastbound / Rosemont Road North On-RampI-264 Westbound / Independence Boulevard North On-RampI-264 Westbound / Independence Boulevard South On- and Off-Ramps (Exit 17A)I-264 Westbound / Witchduck Road On- and Off-Ramps (Exit 16)
Regularly scheduled nighttime lane closures on I-264 for pavement rehabilitation activities will occur Sunday, March 22 through Thursday, March 26 from 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.
