Hurricane Florence pushes Navy base to warn against parking on site

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Naval Station Norfolk is encouraging personnel to not leave their vehicles parked on base due to the flooding that may come with Hurricane Florence‘s potential landfall.

The base is known to flood fast and frequently, as it is near the waterfront.

They say if it’s absolutely necessary to park your car on base, you should the vehicle towards the center of the base or on the air side.
