House being remodeled catches fire in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A house that was being remodeled caught fire in Portsmouth Monday evening.

Officials say they were called around 8 p.m. for the fire in the 3500 block of Floyd Street.

Firefighters quickly made an attack and had the fire out within 40 minutes. 

No occupants were home when the fire started and there were no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
