NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – During a routine traffic stop Newport News Police seized what they’re calling a “significant amount of heroin.”
On Monday police pulled over a car on Jefferson Avenue, for travelling slower than the speed limit. An officer reportedly noticed the car smelled strongly of marijuana. While searching the car, officers found marijuana residue and a significant amount of suspected heroin. The South Precinct officers seized 150 grams of heroin, a 2006 Lexus and $700. Police say the heroin has a street value of $150,000.
Police arrested the driver, 33-year-old Brad Clark Jr. of Newport News, and charged him with possession with intent to distribute schedule I or II drug, possession of marijuana, driving while revoked, and defective equipment.
